FAQS
Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I set up an Over the Moon Bounce?
Our Bounces can be set up at any privately owned or rented location that provides adequate space and a power source within 50 feet of the jump. Bounces can be set up on grass, asphalt, or cement driveways. Surface should be level, with little or no slope, to provide for safe bouncing. It must be clean and free of rocks, sticks, branches, rough debris and pet feces. Please also notify us if you have underground sprinkler lines and ensure that the timer is not set to go off during the time your rental is set up. If the Bounce is to be set up on asphalt or cement where it is not possible to secure it with pegs, sandbags will be provided. Under no circumstance will a Bounce be set up within an unsafe distance of a power line or other vertical/safety obstructions such as trees, building overhangs, fences, etc. Under no circumstances will a Bounce be set up on dirt, gravel, or other loose, sharp, or otherwise potentially damaging surface. A Bounce can be set up indoors given all space and power criteria above are met, and also making sure that there is enough vertical space for the Bounce once it is fully inflated.
What are the space requirements for your Bounce rentals?
Required Space: All Bouncers require an extra 2′ on all sides of the bouncy. The rear of jump requires an additional 4′. In addition to the listed dimensions of the Bounce you are renting, an additional 3 – 5 feet around each side of the Bounce is required to provide safe access and enjoyment, prevent equipment damage, and allow for blowers to be hooked up. So therefore a Bounce that has measurements of 15′ x 15′ for example would require an unobstructed 20′ x 20′ sq. foot space in order to be safely set up. Make sure to measure in advance as our drivers will not set up a Bounce in an area that is unsafe to the equipment or the participants. This does not only apply to the ground but also means that there cannot be any overhead obstacles such as branches or power lines above the area that the Bounce will be placed. Attention: Delivery drivers will NOT go up and down stairs and/or steep hills, etc. Set up location must be easily accessible from the delivery truck. This also means that access to the yard is large enough to get to the set up point as our Bounces are too heavy to lift over fences or other obstacles. The Bounces are several hundred pounds and are approximately 4.5′ high x 3′ in diameter when they are in their bag, so please keep this in mind in regards to gates or passage ways.
What are my responsibilities when I rent a Bounce?
A responsible adult must be in attendance to supervise children at all times while the Bounce is in use. The person in charge of supervision must know all the safety rules and will be responsible for ensuring that the rules are followed at all times. The renter is responsible for the safety of the children and the care of the equipment. All Bounce rentals must have someone in attendance at all times that it is inflated. Under no circumstances can an inflated Bounce be left unsupervised, or a deflated Bounce with be left unsecured. If the Bounce is being delivered to a rented public area such as a park or picnic area, the renter(s) responsible for the Bounce must remain at the location at all times beginning when the Bounce is dropped off and only ending when the Bounce is picked up.
When will you deliver the Bounce to our party?
For parties at a private residence or location, the Bounces are delivered within a 4 hour delivery window of your requested delivery time. We always try to set up at least one hour before the start of the event so that things are running no later than 30 minutes before the start of your rental time. Our delivery drivers have multiple locations on their delivery route so it is critical that the contact person responsible for the rental be on time to meet the driver, provide payment, show us where the Bounce is to be set up, and receive and understand all safety and operation instructions.
What happens on Bad Weather Days?
We make every effort to set up for each and every rental reservation; however the safety of your children is our top priority. Due to insurance and safety restrictions, Over the Moon reserves the right to make the final decision to cancel a rental due to inclement weather. This would be defined as forecast sustained wind speeds of 25-30km/hr (or higher gusts), 60% or higher chance of rain, and/or temperatures below 5 degrees Celsius. If this is the case, we will contact you the day prior to, or the morning of, your rental to discuss relocation or rescheduling options. We can under no circumstances set up in high winds or if it is actively raining due to the increased chance of injury, electrocution, or damage to the Bounce equipment. WARNING: BOUNCE UNITS MUST NEVER BE USED WHEN WET INSIDE and/or WHEN WINDS ARE 30km/hr OR MORE. Inflatables become very slippery and dangerous when wet. If these situations occur, the Bounce unit MUST be evacuated and deflated until the winds die down and/or the rain stops. Once the storm passes, re-inflate the unit and dry off the inside before using the unit again.
What is your weather/illness cancellation Policy?
Please follow the links to view our Weather Cancellation and Illness Cancellation policies.
How can I pay for my Bounce rental?
You can pay for your Over the Moon Bounce rental either by exact cash to the delivery driver at the time the Bounce is set up, or by Visa/MasterCard at the time you book the Bounce over the phone. Please see Pricing Page for more specific pricing info.
How do you secure your Bounce rentals for safety?
We only set up a Bounce rental on a flat, relatively level surface. The Bounces will never be set up if they cannot be secured and anchored properly. We bring heavy duty stakes or sandbags depending on where the unit will be set up. If for some reason you decide to make changes to the location you had planned your rental to be set up, you must let us know (especially from grass to cement) to ensure our delivery drivers will have the proper equipment. Changes made without notification that require extra equipment not originally needed could result in setup delays, or even cancellation, as our drivers are unable to disrupt the rest of their delivery schedule to return for extra equipment.
What type of Insurance does Over the Moon have?
Over the Moon Bounce and Party Rentals Ltd. is fully licensed and holds a $2 million general liability policy.
What happens if the unit is damaged?
The customer is responsible for all damages to unit and any cleaning charges due to misuse (food, gum, rocks, grass, dirt etc). Someone must be with the unit until time of pick up to avoid any problems. A flat rate charge of $1,500 is applied if any silly string is found on the unit. Silly string causes irreversible damage to any Bounce.
What are your Bounces made out of?
All of our Bounces are lead-free and constructed of durable, fire-resistant vinyl.
